A Humbling and Unforgettable Stay at Reethi Beach – Paradise in Every Way. A Humbling and Unforgettable Stay at Reethi Beach – Paradise in Every Way My wife and I recently stayed at Reethi Beach Resort and chose it primarily for its renowned house reef and natural, unspoiled beauty. We were looking for an island that offered that authentic Maldivian feel—lush greenery, white sand beaches, and great snorkeling right off the beach. Although the resort is slightly dated, the abundance of glowing reviews and the number of repeat guests reassured me that we were making the right choice. And I’m so glad we did. It truly is paradise. The Island & House Reef The island itself is mature and simply stunning. The vegetation is lush and provides a real sense of seclusion and peace. One of the highlights for us was the house reef, which is recovering beautifully. There’s an absolute “fish soup” out there—thousands of fish of every color and shape. We snorkeled daily and were lucky enough to spot turtles, reef sharks, eagle rays, and even a majestic manta ray gliding by. The reef is very accessible, with multiple entry points and calm water that makes for a relaxing snorkel experience. It’s one of the best we’ve seen. Accommodation We began our stay in one of the overwater villas, which was a wonderful experience—waking up above the lagoon, with direct access to the sea and those serene ocean views, was truly special. Midway through our holiday, a renovated Deluxe Beach Villa with a private pool became available, and we were kindly offered the opportunity to move. We gladly accepted, and the room was absolutely stunning. The villa was spacious, beautifully finished, and felt fresh and modern while still fitting the natural style of the island. The private pool was a real treat—perfect for a refreshing dip at any time of day, and a peaceful alternative to the sea. While the ocean was mostly calm and gentle, there were a few times when it became a little choppy for my wife, so having the private pool made all the difference. It was a lovely way to unwind and enjoy the surroundings in total privacy. Food & Dining We opted for the All-Inclusive Premium package, which gave us access to the à la carte restaurants. It was absolutely worth it. The food was consistently excellent, particularly the authentic Indian and Maldivian dishes. Every meal felt special, and the ingredients tasted fresh and vibrant. The service was equally exceptional—attentive without being intrusive. We also dined a couple of times at the main buffet restaurant, which had a good variety and quality for a buffet. Every dining experience felt relaxed, unrushed, and high quality. The Heart of the Island – The Staff What truly sets Reethi Beach apart, and what we will carry with us forever, is the people. The staff are the soul of this island. From the moment you arrive, you’re not just a guest—they make you feel like part of something greater. It’s their warmth, sincerity, and attention to detail that create the unforgettable memories you take home. Every smile, every conversation, every kind gesture adds something meaningful to the experience. It’s easy to be impressed by crystal-clear water and white sand, but it’s the staff who make you feel like you belong in paradise. Whether it’s the gardeners who stop to explain the local flora, the servers who remember your favorite drink, or the chefs who go the extra mile to prepare a special dish—these are the things you remember long after the holiday ends. Special mention must go to Reefa, whose service was simply outstanding—genuinely caring, attentive, and always with a smile. Amit and Mohammed were equally fantastic, and the gentleman from India who worked alongside Reefa—who’s been at the resort for over ten years—was another shining example of the dedication and heart that defines Reethi Beach. The Closing Party – A Privilege to Witness One of the most meaningful moments of our stay was being invited to the staff’s closing party. With the resort set to close for renovations, the event was a heartfelt celebration to thank the team for their dedication. It was hosted in the main bar and attended by both staff and guests—a simple but powerful act that demonstrated the deep respect the resort holds for its team. Some staff had worked on the island for over 27 years. That says everything. Watching them dance and be honoured for their years of service was incredibly moving. I believe including guests in this celebration sent a powerful message: that the staff are not just here to serve, but are recognised as truly special individuals who bring the island to life. It made us, as guests, feel honoured to celebrate them—to acknowledge that they are the heart and soul of Reethi Beach, and the reason the experience feels magical. During the event, management also shared proposed renovation plans. It was reassuring to see that while the resort will be updated and modernized, they are committed to preserving the natural, Maldivian character of the island. They emphasized that the mature, lush environment is what sets Reethi Beach apart from newer, more sterile resorts—and we couldn’t agree more. Final Thoughts Reethi Beach was everything we hoped for and more. Though the resort is now closed for renovation (which it was ready for), it in no way affected our holiday. In fact, it felt more intimate and personal than we could have imagined. We are already looking forward to returning once it reopens and can only hope the magic of the staff and the soul of the island remains just as it was. We look forward to returning after the renovation and staying in a beach villa with a pool.. .

What a place...... My Partner and I visited Reethi Beach for 8 nights and what an experience. We stayed in a water villa and it was breath-taking!! To sit and watch the sharks, fish & turtles swim by every morning, noon & night was amazing. The Villa itself was very comfortable and spacious. It had everything we needed! The staff cleaned twice a day and replaced towels, water and fizzy drinks when needed. The water villas have their own sun beds on the beach so there's always plenty of room to sunbathe and relax. A HUGE shout out to Ali!!!! We were both a little scared of the sharks but Ali took us out of our comfort zone and we saw some amazing Sealife including sharks and turtles. Thank you again Ali for an amazing experience and you taught us a lot. The food was great in all restaurants and plenty of options in the buffet for Breakfast, Lunch & Tea. They had different nights including curry night, Italian, French and Spanish - all delicious! On our last night we enjoyed a Lobster 5 course meal in the Saima Garden, it was a little pricey but well worth it if you love Lobster. Another shoutout to Mohamed in the main bar - He made us feel extremely welcome and also made sure our drinks were topped up. Plenty of Pina Coladas on tap! We went all inclusive which was definitely worth it if you like to enjoy a few drinks during the day / night. We miss you Mohamed. Gurung was also very helpful and made sure we were always enjoying ourselves. You will not regret booking this hotel. It is one to remember!. .

Relaxing and beautiful resort!. We were staying as a couple in an overwater villa and had a great stay overall. The atoll is small but beautiful. The staff and the food (some of which grown on the atoll) were superb. Particularly Rubel who was always attentive and caring. A few excursions are available from the dive centre. It is a relaxing resort suitable for those looking to unplug from work and the city life.. .

Nice vacation in Reethi Beach. Today is our last day at Reethi Beach. We have spent here 10 days and it was very nice and relaxing! We stayed at Sunset Villa 148, just in front of the local reef, where I have spent most of the day snorkelling. There are a lot of various and colourful fishes, sometimes I saw small sharks and couple of times met turtle. Island is very green and Garden is taken care of daily ( thanks to Shafiqul !). Very special thanks to the Restaurant team! Excellent food and very friendly service. They prepared nice Easter dinner decorated with painted eggs and served with fresh oysters! Special thanks to Majid, Arun, Rana and the rest of the team! Resort will be closed for renovation in May and reopened in December. I am sure that after renovation it will be even better and I look forward to return here next year!. .

The perfect vacation !. The perfect vacation ! We had a wonderful week with the family. The island is wonderful for diving and snorkeling where you can see thousands of ocean creatures underwater just less than 100 meters from your bungalow. Not to mention the food, it's simply superb ! And the hotel staff are incredibly kind and helpful people. A place we are in love with and will visit again !. .

The perfect holiday. We had the most incredible holiday at Reethi! From the moment we arrived, everything exceeded our expectations. We were fortunate to stay in a water villa, which was simply breathtaking. While the resort is due for a refurbishment at the end of this month and could use a bit of TLC in places, it honestly didn’t affect our experience at all. The rooms were spotless, the food was delicious, and the staff went above and beyond to make our stay perfect. If you’re looking to escape to a stunning, natural island, this is the place to be. The snorkelling on the house reef was out of this world—we’ve never seen such a vibrant array of marine life. We’ve visited other islands in the Maldives and always enjoyed ourselves, but Reethi has a unique charm that truly sets it apart. The atmosphere is wonderfully tranquil and rustic, and the staff are some of the friendliest and happiest we’ve ever met. Huge thanks to Kokki, Uelly, Mohammed, Alex, and the entire Reethi team for making this such a memorable trip. We’ll definitely be returning!. Thank you!. .

Superb experience. My travel companion and I, we spent nine days at the Reethi Beach Resort. We stayed at the Deluxe Sunset Villas, all-inclusive option. To cut the long story short: our holiday couldn't have been better. It started with the communication with the reservations supervisor Ms Suhasini Chemburkar via email. She provided me with prompt and kind answers. She also did her very best to allocate us in two neighbouring villas on a beautiful location near the Sunset Bar – out of her genuine attention for the wellbeing of the guests and not because I asked for any special treatment. Thank you very much, dear Suhasini! And a big thank you to all the staff who went out of their way to make all of the guests feel welcome and happy. We didn’t experience a single negative thing. The staff always genuinely kind and helpful – the waiters (I only remember one name: Faloo) and I’m sorry I wasn’t noting down more names since they all were doing their jobs great and with joy and care. The restaurant staff – excellent. The food in the main restaurant had a taste of excellent, honest cooking of great chefs who knew how to make every dish taste full and different from the others. Thank you to the cleaning staff and to the gardeners and other staff who took care of this little tropical paradise – the lush greenery and the white sandy beach and many more things. The house reef was more than enough for me, the beginner. Even I saw the abundance of many different colourful fish species. Beautiful. The hotel is closing down for renovation until Christmas. Of course, it will get a more modern look and one star more. Yet I can only hope it will preserve its laidback barefoot charm and the kind of luxury for ordinary people who seek peace, simplicity and the beauty of the tropics.. .

5th visit to Reethi Beach. Our 11th visit to the Maldives and our 5th to Reethi Beach. It's the only island we have ever returned to which indicates how much we love it. It's a perfect size with a relaxed atmosphere and a great house reef. Our room (155) was on the sunset side of the island. Very comfortable bed , good shower and everything we needed for our 2 week stay. The dark wood in the room had been painted in pale colours , maybe as a trial for the refurbishment, but was marked in places e.g. tea/coffee cup rings which , if I'm being picky, didn't look great . We were on AI so mainly used the main buffet restaurant. We were well looked after by Bhaskari , Ibbe and Arun who worked incredibly hard. There was plenty of choice at each meal and a great egg station at breakfast. We also ate once in the Grill and had a returners dinner in Saima Garden . It made a nice change to be served but couldn't really fault the food in the buffet. Our only negative was that we preferred to eat after 8pm and so it was often 8.15pm before we were seated with our drinks but the buffet clearing seemed to start well before 9pm. This felt a bit rushed given that dinner was 7-9pm. Thank you to Alex at the Handhuvaru Bar for our lunchtime beers , enjoyed with a game of cards and to Faloo for his humour at the main bar. Every member of staff deserves a shout out as you were all friendly and attentive but too many names to remember. The GM was often in the restaurant in the evening which was a welcome touch. Despite a couple of minor negatives, Reethi Beach is still our favourite island and here's hoping that the refurbishment doesn't change what we, and others, love about it. We will hopefully return.. .

Perfect for snorkeling. Amazing house reef and beach, friendly employees, good quality and diversity of meal at the buffet. Don’t take sunrise villas because dilapidated and noisy ( old air con, and bad side of island in front of boats and seaplanes dock). Extras too expensives (massages, restaurants and beach diners, dive center,…). .
